Scuba Diving Flashlight, 1100 Lumens, IPX8 Waterproof to 30m

Built specifically for underwater use rather than a regular torch with a waterproof claim tacked on: a fully sealed head with three O-rings keeps it watertight to 30 metres, deep enough for recreational diving and confident use in heavy rain on land too. A Cree XM-L2 LED delivers 1100 lumens, runs on a single 18650 or 3 AAA batteries as a backup option if a spare 18650 isn't on hand.

A wrist strap keeps hands free while swimming, a small but genuinely important detail underwater where dropping a light isn't a minor inconvenience the way it would be on land.

Care and use

• Turn it on before entering the water, not underwater
• Screw the switch tight on land, easier than doing it submerged
• Rinse in fresh water after every dive to keep the O-rings sealed

The O-ring maintenance routine matters more than it might seem, salt water residue left to dry on the seals is the most common cause of a dive light eventually failing to hold its rating.
