Choose the right camping lamp for your needs
For camping, weigh portability and light spread, since more LEDs or a wider shade cover a tent or cooking area more evenly. For home backup during power outages, runtime matters more: a longer-runtime lamp outlasts a typical outage, while a shorter-runtime model is fine if you're able to recharge it daily.
What to check before you buy
Look at the battery capacity and stated runtime together, not just one figure, since a bigger battery with an inefficient LED can still run out fast. A light-diffusing shade is worth having if you want even room lighting rather than a single bright point.
